Securus Technologies, in a most recent move, acquired GovPayNet. The company Securus is well-known in the prison system as a provider of a variety of services that enable those in prisons connect with their loved ones. This most recent move, however, I believe, only makes the company shine brighter as it is an expansion of its payment servicing category of business. Additionally, GovPayNet is a giant in its right as it is well known as a top processor of card payments, both credit and debit, to government agencies.

Background Look

Robert Pickens commented on the acquisition saying that they are glad to acquire GovPayNet, recalling how the top executives at the acquired company have experience that is important as they can produce quality services. With such vast experience from both sides, the company is set to continue its journey of excellence by providing payment solutions to government entities. The CEO and President of Securus, Pickens, also hopes that through this acquisition, Securus Technologies will continue to expand into other segments of the market as well.

The Leadership

The CEO of GovPayNet, on the other hand, said that he hopes that through Securus, they can improve their capabilities as a company. He sees the opportunity of a partnership as one for growth and one which will improve the quality of services the company gives to its clients.
